I find it has better features available without rooting. it'll let you take off the status bar easily for one. and as for the lockscreen situation I had the same problem. I couldn't find one that used my background or just looked nice. I ended up finding a good ios7 lockscreen. try to get the one with the parralax effect. it's fully functional with an option to put a pin password, and if you swipe up it lets you access quick setting and basic apps like the actual lockscreen. good emulation. and it looks good
