The 14th was my birthday too, but I turned 29 instead of 23. 23 was a bit of a weird year for me - I had recently dropped out of college and was struggling to get by paycheck to paycheck, but it was also the year I met/started dating the woman who is now my fiance, and I ended the year in a much better place than I started it.
You are correct in that it feels like fewer and fewer people wish you happy birthday with each passing year, but in my experience the ones that still continue to do so become more meaningful. I'm not talking about like, random people on Facebook or whatever, I just mean like, you become closer with friends and family and stuff.
Anyway, happy birthday! I don't have a "23rd" pape since I organize my wallpapers into categories but here is one I like.
