>>6248581THis one's a bit better. BEcause to me, there's more than just romantic love. I've lost some friends over my life who just decided to leave me behind. They thought they were better than me, or someone else told lies about me and they believed them, and so left me behind. Then of course, there are the friends who just drift away and you don't know why.
One of them I told them I loved them, bnut not romantically, and like some tragic shakespearean character, they just failed to get it. "I can't return those feelings." Yea? You can't remember all the times we stayed up late being there for each other when our lives were shit? WHen the other person was going through a rough break up, and we were there for each other? Slept in the same room, like the other person's pet, like a watchful protector. I was there for you because I cared about you, and I didn't need you as much, but I hoped that you would be there for me when I needed you. And when I needed you weren't there.
Ever since those moments, I don't underestimate the close knit feeling of good ol' fashioned camaraderie and friendship. I have a few friends who are female and male, as a straight male, that I love. I would cry and be broken if they died. I would hurt if they just walked out of my life and never spoke to me again. These posts/pictures will be labelled "camaraderie or friendship" in the text, and I will be posting those as well.
I miss my friends. Never take them for granted. And never underestimate the hurt they leave in their place when they walk out of your life. Because acknowledging the love will make you appreciate them more, and acknowledging the hurt will help you heal faster.
