it's not about how "real" it is - as you said, everything is as real as you make it
it's more of a passive vs active approach (also from point of the brain utilization and neuro-activity)
you don't just want to sit and stare into the screen, but move around and do stuff, involve your hands and force yourself into some activity
as you said - technology is cool as fuck
i was soldering PCBs on acid and it was fun too
