>>7875194There is a distinction to be made between Communism the ideology, and communism as a state of living. Capital C communism is idealistic, religious and views communism as something that will liberate the world and save humanity as a Messiah would. They see things as narratives: humans were once free and equal, then slavery and capitalism happened and humans became unfree. Communism as a natural state of living doesn't require a totalizing system, it can happen as long as the material conditions allow it to. Humans evolved to be cooperative and interdependent on the skills of other people. How the products of labor are distributed will always depend on the setting which is why communism can't be applied everywhere, at the same time, forever, or in every situation such as one off trades. We don't need the same system for everything, we should aim to be free from either these constraints.
