Somebody in this thread, years ago, hooked me up with the gimp add-on that added a tool to automatically heal selections. I recently reformatted and had no luck finding the tool on my own. It only occurred to me today to come back to the source asking for help. Was especially great for removing dialog bubbles from comic like this example image.
