/w/ posters were furious and started reporting them and after they got purged the mods began moving new threads to /trash/.
One of the reasons for this was that those threads got turned into chatrooms for ~10 weeb shitposters who just dumped anime pictures and posted barely any desktops, so they were off topic besides the fact they were shitting up the board.
Those same shitposters were also the reason desktop threads were removed from /g/.
I don't think it's right to ban desktop threads altogether because of a small group of people that shuold just be permabanned.
