I agree with the other anons that it's for the best—better after 5 dates than a year—but it still hurts in a different sort of way. It leaves you feeling sort of strung along. Some people find hook-up culture and casual dating fun and exciting, but I just find it emotionally draining. If something is good, I want it to last.
Finding the right person for you is only half of it: you have to be the right one for her, too, and sometimes you're not. But I have hope, and you should, too.
