I never really got why Liara is so popular. She's so wooden. In fact, she's probably the least emotional of any asari in the entire game. I guess she got popular as a love interest because Tali's in a full-body suit and Ashley's a bitch, and the only other love interest for MaleShep in ME2 is Jack, who's kinda nuts.
