I've always daydreamed about going back to a bunch of these schlocky scifi films from the 1920s through the 1950s and finding the ones where the plot could be re-worked into something non-retarded for today's world. Taking something like this and renaming it 20 Million Light Years to Earth with modern graphics/spfx, acting, script and such would be an example of that. Got to be a thousand movies just waiting for some retro love, much like The Thing did.
