Imagine me going up to someone who is against tradition and saying they were being illogical by supporting something just because it's different than how things have been for a long time. I'm sure you'd agree with me that this wouldn't be fair to say, I should at least assume they have their own reasons for making their judgement unless they indicate otherwise. But here you're doing just that, assuming that the only reason people would like tradition is based solely on what tradition literally is and lacks any logic or reason.
