The only way to finance travel is to work, I find in tech support its easy to find work at the lower end, even if its just for 3 or 6 months and then move on.
I have met some great people in my travels, I will stay in melb the next 6 months I think then I am not sure where I will go, maybe somewhere in europe. Theres so much of the world to see, so much to do and so little time to do it
