Sounds like the "color temperature" (also called "white point") of your TV is set to something cooler than your monitor.

Warm setting = white looks yellow-ish
Normal setting = white looks white
In my Samsung SyncMaster menu it's called "color tone", maybe you can look for something like this in the menu...?
