https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaHsXQjDepgI met this Russian girl while on a trip to Taiwan with some friends of mine, a chance encounter of sorts since i hated clubbing/partying and decided that i might as well make some friends. Strangely enough she was the one who approached our table, traded our contact information and did not think much about it till the last day of our trip. Rather than waste it on cheap drinks and loud music, i decided to try my luck and ask her out. She accepted and we spend an entire evening just walking though the streets and night markets, talking about our lives and history. I remember how the warm touch of her made for a good contrast for the cold season. Before seeing her off, i joked that if she ever dropped by my country she could give me a call and i would be happy to show her around.
Fast forward a couple of months and i received a call at 3 in the morning from a foreign number. She had arrived at the airport and was wondering if my offer was still available.
Three day passed in a blink of an eye and i saw her off at the airport. She joked that if i ever visited Russia the same offer was available to me.
It was only after she entered the boarding gate that i knew she had stolen my heart.
I'll be finished with my duties as a conscript in 2 months and 2 weeks. I'm not sure what i want in life despite lying to everybody about my plans for the future. It's strange, doing something you dread and hate so much but you hesitate at the first sign of freedom. But the one thing i can thank her for would be awakening my wanderlust.
