I was just like you over the bitmap fonts, but you learn to move out of them for your browser as you come to a realisation that they're actually very impractical for a browser.
The foobar2000 skin you're using was created to work with portable foobar, unless you clean up the portables info, foobar will have a very long and offputting name,
Infact I'll list some of the issues as an image to make it clear.
For volume, I actually use the stock windows volume controller too,
but adding this to your menu should do the trick for the volume controller, check pic.
And as for workspaces You wouldn't think so but you can fit their names in about 3 characters, but whatever suits you.
