This picture was taken last summer during a kayak trip me and my two best friends organized. We went to a lake with a small island in the middle with tree cover. It was off limits by the DNR, but being sneaky, we pulled our kayaks and camp gear ashore and covered them with groundcover. after 5 miles of kayaking in open water, we were exhausted, hot and pleased with ourselves. That evening, the most beautiful sunset graced our little island. I sat on the shore, there next to one of my best friends, and in the moment that my other best friend took this picture I felt the most content I ever had. I don't talk to the friend who's standing there anymore, but I want to every day. Exterior circumstances keep us apart, but I wish I could just say hi, or visit him again one last time. I didn't realize that trip was going to be one of the last times I ever saw him. I thought we would be friends for life....
