I broke up more or less a month ago after being together for over a year - it hurt in the beginning but instead of dwelling in the sadness you have, just be happy you won't be stuck forever with someone who doesn't deserve you or didn't value you enough :P
I don't know exactly what happened to you, OP - but stay positive - and just know that everything happened for a reason, and in some time you'll have another chance with another girl that can see the good in you.
