I'm not even in it so much for the stories as for the art. I was looking for more examples of Jinsei Choh's work earlier and he may as well not even be a real person. Doesn't have a website or a social media, no online repositories of his work. Not even a wikipedia page. Pretty much everything goes back some blogger who uploaded "a selection of scans from my collection of cheap 70s and 80s Japanese illustration books/catalogs" with varying degrees of attribution. The Jinsei pictures don't even have years, just "ca. 80s". Maybe there's some Japanese-language repository that has the full versions of these catalogs, but I can't read moon runes (yet) so I wouldn't know how or where to look.
As for copyright, personally if I was in a position to do something I wouldn't care one way or the other. There's always donations, and the good stuff would get ripped and plastered across the internet no matter what.
