I grew up in a small town in central Australia. It was quiet, dusty, and hot as all hell. I hated it. It was only in the year or so before I moved away, and in the first few weeks living in the city that I realised how much I loved the place. At night there were no lights in sight, so you could look up and see the majesty of the heavens strewn across the sky. I could spend hours standing beneath them, letting myself be swallowed by the grand infinity of the cosmos. Starscapes fill me with this rising inspiration, a feeling of incomprehensible size.
