Nobody takes blind pride in the work of his ancestors, but rather shows gratitude for being able to live in the culture that these people created. He is greateful for all the past has created for him and he tries to save that. Man needs to be part of something, to identify with something greater than himself, otherwise all that is left for him is alienation and nihilism. Man finds meaning in ties with the world that surrounds him and what better ties can there be than those of blood, religion, nation and culture?
