I've been lucky enough to have a good childhood and so it is hard for me to relate from personal experience but I agree that it is important to confront our worst moments, for they often make us the people we are. I do know the feeling of loneliness though. I think a lot of people on this forum will have gone through similar, ostracised because we don't share the interests of others around us.
Remember, there is a bright side though. You survived. Many people will cancer are not so lucky. What would you have done back then to be rid of cancer? You are one of the lucky ones, you can go out, live your life and do what you want. I wish you all the best for the future.
