Movie was one of the most wretched pieces of shit ever put to screen. Missed absolutely everything about the book, beyond horrible acting, cinematography and special effects terrible even by the standards of the era. So bad it was nearly the Plan 9 From Outer Space of its time, except not even entertaining. Just forgettable, except for how bad it is.
For a long time now I've thought that a well-updated version of the original novel could make for a killer sci fi post-apocalyptic movie. I keep hoping someone with talent will rediscover it and do it justice.
