>>7496994I'm taking not saying women can't kick ass or punch someone's lights out, but more often than not when a guy sits down to right a strong female lead he literally just writes a guy with boobs paying no mind to the ways that women and men are different.
Besides physical differences that will always exists there are fundamentally different ways that men and women think, not that each sex is a homogenized hivemind, but there are definable traits that crop up way more often in women that people like to sweep out and pretend don't exist.
An emotional women can still be a strong person but because that trait is deemed weak, even if it is a common personality lots of women have, it isn't usually assigned to a character.
Currently it feels like there are exactly two types of "strong female" archetypes and not a lot of variety with what you do with them. More traditionally feminine traits risk the character being seen as sexist or unappealing.
Of course you can go to far in the other direction as well and end up with a laughably dated feeling character or one who was clearly written by someone who has never actually interacted with another women and is just infusing them with traits that they find "womanly"
Both extremes are terrible, currently though I find the "Women power ra, ra, ra" one to be more obnoxious and prevalent.
