One of the main reasons I started distancing myself from past friends is the way their worldview was so different from mine, and how they thought I would put up with them trying to belittle me out of their insecurity. Not that I'm angry with them, I just grew tired of dealing with this as I saw no value or progress in such conversations. (me telling them they are behaving in a retarded way and them denying it, basically the wheelchair guy pic, who was just 'Epic troll'). Luckily not all my friends were like that though. Some are still very good friends they just chose to hang out with another group of friends as I already have someone and they are still out chasing women, which I have no problem with. We still hang out quite a lot and our friendship truly hasn't diminished.
pic: I know he's a sort of cliche character, but Leon from Resident Evil is a sort of role model for me. He is kinda cheerful and and up to business even in the direst situations (just finished 4 where he had the virus stuck in his body all along)
