>>6944117Oh yes, nostalgia is also a factor for most people, but I meant more that that period now has an established canon of sorts, so that when people discuss '80s horror movies everybody only talks about the good ones. Nobody remembers, watches or discusses the 'Worry Dolls' of the 80's anymore. Whereas with contemporary horror you are witnessing all these shitty ones coming out all the time.
My local cinema is also drab and increasingly expensive. There's a new artsy one now which is slightly cheaper but it's also terribly uncomfortable and uncozy. Lately, I just watch everything at home a few months later, sigh. I don't think there's a drive-in anywhere in my entire country, haha.
