It would be ideal for the illustration to be on the left, but middle is fine if it's too hard.
I'm fine with the background being a repeat or copy and blend of some paper texture.
Also if you have time could you try to clean it up -- things like the texture of the page, and the slight border around the illustration and the paper edge at the left side?
I would really appreciate this.
