The way I see it is everyone has something about them that others don't. It's like a point system, with everyone given the same amount of points, and they are divided differently for everyone.
I myself don't look as great or throw a football as hard as the jocks, but i am friendly and have a good head on my shoulders, something those jocks can only dream of. It also gets specific, like your friend might be better at written tests, but he can't code the way you can, and he doesn't have a political head like you do. You gain points everyday, with everything you learn.
And if you think you were given fewer points than others, you're wrong. Say you went through depression. By being able to heal, it just highlights that you are stronger and can handle more than the others.
