>combining muh traditional culture with the most disgustingly carnal 80's consumerist aesthetic celebrating peak capitalism
Like we needed more proof the aut-right is nothing but an aesthetic movement of liberal capitalism with no substance beyond pink tainted vacuities.
In fact this is pretty revealing of the current state of things. We have achieved peak consumerism, the capitalist mode of production having alienated everyone beyond what even Debord thought possible. So the modern man, scared, retreats to the start of this - the 80's. Unable to understand anything else, he metaphorically crawls back into the womb, intio the decade when consumerism effectively took over the world - the start of a new age and the furthest back his ideological horizon allows him to look. He has been alienated to anything beyond that, unable to understand any deeper meaning to the artistic endeavours of the previous centuries, reducing them to "IT LOOKS PRETTY!!111!!!". So, to make sure these pieces, those aesthetics become completely inoffensive, to make sure it won't make him think to hard, to make sure it won't go against his current paradigm, he gives them a coat of 80's consumerism, effectively stripping them of meaning and adding a new one, birthed by his romatization of a past that never was reinforcing his cultural isolation to anything before Reagan and Thatcher sold our world off tot he dogs.
