>>5600559As my parents don't like vidya, I had to save for two years to buy a Gamecube at launch (I was a kid). It was my first system but I had played plenty of games before. I remember seeing some article in Nintendo Power about Metroid Prime and I thought it looked really interesting (I had never heard of Metroid since the last game was Super Metroid back in '94). I thought the sci-fi parts looked neat and I've always been into guns and "sciency" things (I'm an aerospace engineer now), so it looked like something worth a hard-earned $50. I bought the game and it exceeded my expectations in every way. I have honestly never gotten more enjoyment out of any one thing than I did out of Metroid Prime. It's high quality, long (if you don't know the routes obviously), difficult (for a kid), and just plain fun. The title scree music in particular was really creepy and really set the mood so I picked a wallpaper of the title screen.
