During the Korean War, US planes dropped 635,000 tons of bombs and 32,557 tons of napalm, 75% of Pyongyang was destroyed, and 398,000-750,000+ north Korean fighters and allies perished (this doesn't include the 145,000+ who are missing). The total number of Korean civilian casualties is 2.5 million, with 1.55 million from theDPRK.
Air Force general Curtis LeMay, head of the strategic air command during the Korean War, estimated that the American campaign killed 20 percent of the population. “We went over there and fought the war and eventually burned down every town in North Korea,” hesaid.
