>>7224717>Seek help and talk to someone, even though you already tried. They didn't listen>You'll regret killing yourself, despite no one else knowing exactly what you are going through>You'll hurt those around you, not that they cared for you in the first place which is why you're hereI never really got the point of these signs and I find them incredibly insulting. They won't help the people who actually want to die. I can only think of one type of person this would help and it's the one that pretends to want to kill themselves for attention due to negligence. Although, excessive abusive actions against any individual would push them over the edge rendering this sign useless, neglected or otherwise. If you are so far removed that you are about to kill yourself, the only way someone can help you is to actually Be there and delay you or prevent you from killing yourself. Delay because that mindset is temporary. Prevent because if you're stuck too long in that mindset, well you actually try. A sign on a bridge is the spiteful and irresponsible lazy man's way of help.
The sign should read something along the lines of, Tell a Stranger what you are doing right now. Or, Tell your story to a Stranger and Tell them why you Should die. When I was depressed, I always found it much easier talking to someone who wasn't invested in trying to 'help' me. When I almost killed myself, it was my brother who stopped me.
