>>8009252The simple fact of the matter is that RTD is a better writer than Chibnall and didn't advertise his era by talking about what social changes he'd hope it would inspire. All of Rusty's companions with the exception of Rose post-Eccleston were fully rounded and genuinely great characters who happened to be women. Moffat didn't know how to write girls as anything other than sex mommies and sassy ninjas and Chibnall couldn't define a woman if asked directly, so of course the quality of "the message" degraded.
