My condolences OP. One of the few flower pictures I have. My grandma also isnt doing that great. She's 89, also in Poland. Worked several jobs, as I recall garment and cosmetic factories, and a school cafeteria cook. About 5 years ago, shortly after my last visit, her memory started to decline. I remember her crying and waving me off as we drove off to the airport. Last week, when we called to wish her a happy birthday, she didn't remember who I was. She always remembered who I was. My family there is telling us that she's eating very little now, and mostly spends her day in bed. Im bracing for the worse.
My biggest regret is that I never recorded or wrote down all the stories she told us. When we gathered around her in the evening and she told us about her life, the wars, etc. Now she doesnt remember her own tales. A word of advice to all of you : cherish them while they last.
God bless her OP. And god bless you.
