>>7592962Oh, and I've gotta add an addendum to this now that I've spent more time pape-downloading, and I should probsbably mention that I started on the Japanese site before the English one so I just now noticed this!
Method B flat out doesn't work on the
nintendo.com site as the search results page only has square icons for games, as opposed to
nintendo.co.jp's 16:9 banners. Lame!
Also apparently it's a total crapshoot even if you go to a game's page what the resolution of the banner is, if it even has one. A sizable chunk of them are pathetically tiny, and their aspect ratios and file names appear to be completely random by game. It's so disorderly! Only the ones that have a source url ending in "-hero" are full-size.
I'd highly recommend using
nintendo.co.jp over .com. The Japanese game banners are universally 1920x1080 (if they have a banner, that is. Sometimes older 3DS, Wii U, and virtual console games do not.) and are consistently higher quality across the board from what I've seen. For example, JP's are usually in the 2 MB range, as opposed to COM's being around 200 KB.
That being said, I would only recommend using .com if the game is a western exclusive!
