I did Effexor, then Seroquel... finally had to go out of my network to a private doctor and was prescribed Abilify and Lamictal(lamotrigine). One is for my depression, the other my bipolar. You may have more wrong than just simply "depression". If your doctor won't work with you try seeing someone else who can evaluate you in a more unbiased fashion. Note: If you're not seeing a psychiatrist get in and see one. A GP will really only prescribe the easy stuff like prozac.
