The film was made to make a LOT of money first and foremost, to break even against the giant budget. "Dumbing down" for the largest possible audience was inevitable.
That being said, the costuming / props / cgi / aesthetic was top notch, and the story had it's moments.
Don't let anons talk you out of it, movie was entertaining 7/10.
