I finally decided to pull the trigger on the SSD meme and that was actually a pretty good one. I finally don't hear anymore any other noise beside the CPU fan and the one caused by the DVD-RW when starting the PC.
But that also meant to say goodbye to my former Arch install. Somehow in less than a couple hours I was able to restore it to the original state and, surprisingly, even make the original bluetooth adapter work without any problem at all.
