https://www.moma.org/collection/works/78455Pic related is Chester County Farm (1947), known today as the Kerner Farm, part of the Brandywine Conservancy in Chadds Fors, Pennsylvania. I lived next to that farm for 20 years, hunted deer and geese on it and had a few drinks with Karl Kerner, Sr. over the years. He immigrated from Germany. When World War II came around, he managed a work program for German POWs on the farm so he could make them feel at home and take care of his former countrymen. I helped him cut and bail hay when he was in his 80s, and it was a long, long day to try and outwork him. Cool guy.
