The artists had no frame of reference other than white people for this sort of thing. They didn't live in a world where colored people did the same things so they didn't integrate it into their art work. If you look at these through the eyes of the artists, the only people who drove cool cars, dined at diners, had cool hotels, etc. were white. That's just the way it was back then so this was how they depicted this through their art. This is the "American Dream 1950s Art" thread, don't expect modern moral systems from people 70 years ago. Just enjoy the art.
