I have a question about the aesthetic of depressing images. Why is it that when one is depressed, they seek out images like this? Why not go for something bright and happy? The reason I ask is because I'm generally more attracted to such dark aesthetics, but if I were being logical about it, I'd seek out images that are the opposite of this to make me feel better. But I don't. I appreciate images like this, but it just enables my depression. Why do we actually seek out melancholy things? It seems illogical to me and yet I do it.
