I'm about to finish a graduate degree in applied cognition and neuroscience, and have held a few jobs in machine learning, ux, and research but it's all just in an effort to impress my conservative indian parents who aren't happy that i'm not interested in marriage or becoming a doctor or whatever bullshit way they want my life to go
because of that i feel like i have no passion left for anything, even when i used to be huge into the arts when i was younger; i would always write, paint, sing, play piano, and they called it a waste of time and threatened to cut off financial support if i didn't go to university in the sciences
writing it all down makes me realize all of my issues are parent-centric, coolio
