Hyde Park is a beautiful neighborhood full of clever people and remarkable history. It links up to our lakefront trail, so cyclists have an artery to basically the entire city. It is also adjacent to some of the most violent areas in the city, so I wouldn't encourage people to get out and explore west/south on foot the way I might on the North Side. Any chance you're asking because of UChicago?
