>>7045409Austria has been a separate nation with a separate identity from Germany for centuries before they joined in WW2, the joining of the two countries was initiated by the Germans. The annexation of Sudetenland was not legal and was a power and land grab in anticipation for war. The Nazis started building an massive army and violating the treaties early on, as soon as they won power in Germany in 1933, they were preparing for war that early as well.
Germany invading the USSR has everything to do with the escalation of WW2, just like Pearl Harbor does in further escalating the war by bringing 7 million American GI's into the war as well. By 1943 Germany had 2/3rds of all of its military equipment and manpower on the Eastern front, and that's what fucked them over. The French had already surrendered in 1940, and the British were unable to attempt an invasion of France that would be successful on their own in 1940 and 41. The Nazis violating the non-aggression pact and invading the USSR opened the largest and bloodiest front of WW2 and any war in human history.
Nazi Germany straight up started WW2, the conditions for war were ripened by the western allies but they are not to blame for actually starting the war. When Nazi Germany invaded Poland, the UK and Poland had a mutual defense treaty, and the Nazis knew this and expected Britain to declare war shortly after. Nazi Germany began the actions of war willingly and they payed heavily for it later on. As for the politics of modern Germany and the refugees, that is a thing the people of Germany and EU should worry about.
WW1 was started by a Bosnian-Serb and escalated because of Germany. WW2 was started by Nazi Germany and escalated by the Soviet entry against the Nazis (something the Nazis started by invading them).
