I think a lot of people have been broken as well. Some people, such as myself, become so broken that they lose their first and second faces, these faces become damaged and scarred. Other people see this damage, and seeing it on a superficial level leads them to a train of thought that says "I can't imagine whats deeper", so they leave. The broken, having no one to find solace in, turn to the world for comfort and escape, only to see that the only solace the world can provide is fleeting. Whether it be sex, drugs, alcohol, marijuana, video games, excessive socialization and extroversion, it never lasts because there is no legitimate connection established anywhere. Then, after seeing this, there are two things that can happen to the broken. Either they continue in this life broken and running from the pain, living simply, or grow knowing that the damage may be irreparable but at least they can find solace in themselves, in their own third mask. In a more rare circumstance, the broken find solace in either the very strong, or those broken like them.
That would be it. "Love". Like a rose, beautiful, fiery and red, but laden with thorns.
