>>7807095>what is sonnenradThe Black Sun or Sonnenrad (Sunwheel) is a more straightfoward symbol. It is related to the swastika, but also to many other ancient symbols and sigils that all refer to two main ideas: the Sun and- you guessed it- a wheel. Julius Evola's Revolt Against the Modern World provides a far better treatment of the universal significance of these symbols than I can provide here.
On the sun: "In the king, people saw the same 'glory' and 'victory' proper to the sun and to the light (the symbols of the superior [transcendent, spiritual] nature), which every morning overcomes darkness." (J. Evola, Revolt Against the Modern World, p. 9). The sun represents Light, Truth, Victory, Glory, the Eternal, that which is above, transcendent, or spiritual. It represents energy or power emanating forth. It represents life-energy and it represents the masculine principle. This is why Sun symbols are so universally common and have such ancient origins, and why to this day symbols like the swastika are so eye-catching as they speak to something deep within our evolutionary memory.
The wheel, on the other hand, represents Centrality, or a pole: there is an unmoved center that stays stable while the rest of the world turns around it. This corresponds not only to something like the Chinese Middle Kingdom or the Norse Midgard, but also an internal way of being: "Its motionless center signifies the spiritual stability inherent in those who are not affected by this stream [of samsara, material life] and who can organize and subject to a higher principle the energies and activities connected to the inferior [material, mortal] nature" (Ibid., p. 16).
Now, does everyone who posts these symbols have all of that in mind when they do? Probably not. But those are the meanings of it and its origin as significant.
