Anyway, here's what I'm working on, I'd like some feedback:
1 - I like the light and airy look but the header kinda gets lost so I might have to deal with that.
2 - I'm planning on centering the whole thing vertically not just horizontally but I have to figure out how to do that.
3 - I might make the icons smaller and still have to clean them up, or maybe just replace them with the sites' names.
4 - I still have to figure out how to get rid of the slightly rounded corners without squaring off the dots on the bottom.
5 - I don't like the fact that when the browser window is too small the top bar becomes two lines so I'm planning of getting rid of the top and bottom bars altogether and just try to integrate the sections names with the dots somehow, reduce redundant elements but I don't know how to make that work yet.
6 - I saw a start page were the different sections slide in and out rather than fade, that's also on my to do list but hell if I know how to do that.
My ideal would be something like
