Wine could be able to run an older version of MS Office. I think someone on /g/ was able to get Office 2010 to run with Wine.
Other than that, you don't have to know anything about programming to use Linux. My mom uses Linux and she doesn't even know how copy files to a thumbdrive. And don't use Manjaro, it's a security nightmare and breaks more often than Arch itself. Mint is fine tho.
