When I see a car with a white body and a black hood I think "Oh, he was in a fender bender and had to have his hood fixed and they didn't have a white one."
That said, I don't think it's ugly or anything. I just probably wouldn't do it to my car.
Maybe this will help? A google search for "white car black hood" returns a bunch of good examples.
I like the way this car has a black hood AND top (and presumably trunk). That sort of striped look I like, but just the hood not so much.
