>>7723879I'm not being facetious, but since when is not believing people can switch genders make me a "terf"? It's an actual fact. can you switch your expression? Sure who cares. If you asked someone on the street 10 years ago if a man can say hes a woman and that makes him "100% a biological woman" They would have laughed in your face. It feels like the whole world is going batshit insane in fear of cancellation. There's a problem where in the current year you either believe the popular IDPOL ideology twitter churned out last week immediately or you are a piece of shit that deserves to get killed.
What about us people that are somewhere in the middle or in slight disagreeance? I don't hate trans people and I call them whatever they prefer because I don't intentionally set out to be mean or make other people feel bad. I don't have a problem sharing a bathroom with people so men don't beat the shit out of them in the men's room. I don't care if they decide they want surgery to make themselves feel better. What I want is fairness and discussion that allows for nuance, something that seems like a sin in current era.
My problem begins when legal arcitecture that was built to help uplift women to equal status is beginning to get torn down in favor of the elusive idea of "gender identity". Women "feeling like a woman" isn't what got us raped and discriminated against on a global scale throughout history. It's because of our bodies FFS. Why are we changing so many things to the detriment of 50% of the population to make 1% "feel validated"? Do you ever see men having to make concessions for this group?
I am supportive of trans rights as far as those rights not infringing any of mine. If the wokelibs could just let us create fair sports leagues they can participate in, leave female-specific scholarships, leadership roles and grants, not call people transphobic for not wanting to date them as a preferance, and actually support the equal rights amendment i'd be all in.
