Strangely enough, after reading these one star reviews of the book, it has gained some credibility to me, and I might read it.

If you go on websites like reddit, or tumblr. (not that I really do myself). The general consensus seems to be that if a man is having a problem with a woman, it is his fault and he is just not progressive enough.
For example in my case stated in OP. I imagine the response on some website like reddit would be to just become friends with her boyfriend and then maybe in 20 years I can ask him if he would be comfortable with a threesome. Ya know, stupid stuff like that.
